Privacy Policy

The Forerunner app (hereinafter referred to as 'the App') establishes and discloses the following privacy policy in accordance with Article 30 of the 「Personal Information Protection Act」 to protect the personal information of data subjects and to handle any complaints related to personal information promptly and smoothly.

1. Purpose of Personal Information Processing

The App never collects or transmits users' health data externally. User data is accessed in read-only mode only with the user's consent and exclusively within the device.

  • Accessible data: Steps count, workout records, and mindfulness data stored in the Apple Health app
  • Purpose of use: Visualization (charts, statistics, etc.), providing training insights
  • Data is processed only within the app and is neither transmitted to nor stored on external servers

However, for the following purposes, some anonymized data or user inquiry data may be processed on external servers:

  • Mixpanel analytics tool: Collection of anonymized usage behavior data (e.g., screen views, button taps) to improve functionality and ensure app stability.
  • Google Firebase: Secure storage of customer inquiry messages when using the in-app support chat feature.

For analytics data, collected items include app usage events and device information (※ Health data is not included). For support chats, only the content of the inquiry and the associated internal identifier are stored.

2. Processing and Retention Period of Personal Information

The App does not store health data on servers.

  • Health data is processed only temporarily during app usage.
  • Inquiry data stored in Firebase is retained until the resolution of the inquiry or upon the user's request for deletion.

Behavioral data collected via Mixpanel is anonymized and deleted once the purpose of collection is fulfilled.

3. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

The App does not provide any sensitive personal information, including health data, to third parties.

However, limited data may be provided to the following third parties for service improvement and operation:

  • Mixpanel, Inc.: De-identified data for app usage behavior analysis
  • Google LLC (Firebase): Storage of support chat messages for customer service

4. Outsourcing of Personal Information Processing

The App outsources data processing to external vendors as follows:

  • Mixpanel, Inc.: Analysis of app usage behavior
  • Google LLC (Firebase):
    • Data: Support chat messages and technical identifiers
    • Purpose: Customer inquiry handling and support history management
    • Retention: Until inquiry resolution or user deletion request

5. Rights and Obligations of Data Subjects and Legal Representatives, and Methods of Exercise

Users can control their data through the following means:

  • Revoking access to Apple Health in device settings to stop health data processing.
  • Requesting deletion of support chat history by contacting the Personal Information Protection Officer.
