Why I Build Apps: Toward a Kinder Society Starting with a "Better Me"

Hi, I'm Alex.

Today, I want to share the "why" behind the apps I create. Beyond just writing code, I want to talk about the philosophy and the personal experiences that drive every feature I develop.

Anxiety and Depression are Natural Waves

My journey took a pivotal turn when I worked as a Product Engineer on an app focused on depression. During that time, I realized just how many people grapple with feelings of gloom and anxiety. More importantly, I came to understand that feeling these emotions is completely natural—it's a part of being human.

Self-Care as the Foundation of a Better World

I believe that learning to navigate and regulate these emotions is vital. When we strive to become "better versions of ourselves"—both physically and mentally—we naturally cultivate the capacity to be kinder to others.

If I am healthy and at peace, I can offer more warmth to the people around me. I truly believe that by helping individuals manage their well-being, I am contributing to a foundation for a better, more compassionate society.

Bridging Physical and Mental Wellness

Since that realization, my mission has been to build tools that support both physical and mental health. Whether it's through tracking movement or finding mental clarity, I want my apps to be a bridge to a more balanced life.

I create these tools in the hope that they help us all become a little more resilient, a little more patient, and ultimately, a lot more caring toward one another.
